Nordic digital therapeutics (DTx) innovator SidekickHealth has been selected by leading European innovation and educational player EIT Digital as a finalist in its renowned pan-European competition EIT Digital Challenge.

Sidekick will compete in the Digital Wellbeing category against four other European deep tech scale-ups.

The competition focuses on start-ups in growth stage, so called scale-ups, with deep tech products that leverage sophisticated, hard-to-reproduce digital technologies that fuel the digital transformation.

A total of 279 companies from 33 countries applied in five categories, strategically chosen with respect to major digital trends and European leadership potential: Digital Tech, Digital Industry, Digital Cities, Digital Finance and Digital Wellbeing.

In each category, the five best companies are invited to an exclusive final event in Brussels on November 6 this year to present their technology to an international expert jury of corporates and investors.

In each category, two winners will be awarded and receive a full year support by the EIT Digital Accelerator worth €50,000 to grow their businesses in Europe and beyond. The first prize winners of each category will receive an additional cash prize of €750,000.

Sidekick specializes in the creation of gamified DTx solutions and programs, transforming chronic and lifestyle disease management across multiple therapy areas in alliance with key players in the pharmaceuticals and healthcare industries.

The company’s platform has also been recognized by leading industry bodies and accelerator programs. It has been rated in the top 0.1% in quality by the industry’s leading rating company Orcha, has over 30,000 users and a clinical validation across multiple therapy areas – ranging from type 2 diabetes to Crohn’s disease.
Sidekick was recently selected out of over 850 applicants into Silicon Valley’s Plug & Play Health business accelerator.
